You will be tired — the day starts extremely early. Bring snacks and water for the canyon walk.

Falls first, then Bromo sunrise
With a night near Bromo, you can visit Madakaripura on the afternoon you arrive — more relaxed, potentially with fewer crowds — then sleep early in Cemoro Lawang or similar and do the standard sunrise and crater next morning.
It splits the two intense experiences, so neither feels rushed. It isn’t practical as a single day from a distant city like Surabaya.

Is Madakaripura Waterfall suitable for children?
Yes, for children comfortable walking on uneven, wet surfaces who don’t mind getting completely drenched. The trek is about 30–45 minutes each way, with some stream crossings. Younger children might need carrying in parts; bring water shoes and a change of clothes. Local guides will assist.
Do I need to hire a local guide for Madakaripura Waterfall?
Yes. A local guide is mandatory, and included in Bali Premium Trip’s tours. Guides navigate the sometimes tricky, slippery path, keep you safe, add local knowledge — and provide ponchos or raincoats for the trek.
What if the weather is bad or the waterfall is closed?
We can’t guarantee weather, but our local partners monitor conditions constantly. If heavy rain or unsafe conditions lead park authorities to close Madakaripura, your safety comes first: we contact you immediately and discuss alternative arrangements or a partial refund for the waterfall portion.
Can I ride a horse at Mount Bromo instead of walking?
Yes, across the sea of sand to the base of the steps. It isn’t usually in the tour price; you arrange it with local horse owners on site, usually around IDR 100,000–150,000 per person return, though prices vary. You still climb the 250 steps to the rim yourself.
